Batterer Intervention Program (BIP)
Batterer Intervention Program (BIP)
Answer
A Batterer Intervention Program (BIP) offers an education-based program that makes victim safety its primary priority, holds offenders accountable, and promotes a coordinated community response to domestic violence. The goal of a BIP is to provide offenders who use violence with the opportunity and skills to change the behavior, beliefs, and attitudes that support their use of violence against intimate partners.
ZeroV is responsible for overseeing the BIP, the certification process for providers, and ensure overall quality and consistency for service providers (both individuals and programs) that work with people who use violence. BIP's existence is required by state law and serves people who have been court-ordered to participate in the program
