ZeroV 2026 Legislative Updates: March 10
Last week was the final week for both the House and the Senate to file new bills. In total, we've reviewed over 1,200 pieces of legislation. Since our last update, we have added one new bill to our tracker and status updates to a few bills that are progressing this session. Read on for the details.
New Bills
SB 337 would allow a parent receiving child support, whose child also receives the KTAP public benefit, to keep up to $100 per child, up to $200 max, that would otherwise go to the state and federal government.
- Economic stability is an essential protective factor for parenting survivors. This bill would help bolster financial security, allowing survivor parents to better provide for their families' needs.
Bill Updates
HB 418, which focuses on ensuring the safety and well-being of children in custody cases, passed the House last Wednesday and is now under review in the Senate.
HB 611, which aims to enhance and refine domestic violence data in Kentucky, has passed the House and is now with the Senate.
SB 156, which would effectively ban child marriage, passed the Senate on March 3 and is now in the House.
You can see all the bills we're monitoring this session, along with brief descriptions of how they affect survivors, in ZeroV’s Bill Tracker. We will update our bill tracker weekly as new bills of interest are filed and relevant amendments are proposed.
As the 2026 legislative session's bill-filing period comes to a close, ZeroV expresses gratitude to Kentucky legislators for creating policy solutions that enhance safety and invest in the lives and futures of survivors and their children.
Thank you!
