ZeroV 2026 Legislative Updates: April 7

April 07, 2026

During the final days of the 2026 legislative session, we're taking a big breath during this session's 10-day veto period.

This period began on April 2 and will last until April 13. During this time, Governor Beshear must decide whether to sign, veto, or allow the bills to become law without his signature.

After this period, the General Assembly is scheduled to reconvene for the last two days of the session on April 14 and 15 to address any remaining business. This includes considering veto overrides and any pending legislation that they aim to pass before the session concludes.

You will receive one final email on April 16 after the session ends, where we will be sharing our review of the 2026 legislative session.

About ZeroV’s Policy Advocacy

The well-being of survivors is our top policy priority.

Throughout the legislative session, ZeroV will advocate for adequate funding for domestic violence services. We will also advocate for policies that support the safety, healing, and well-being of survivors, enabling them to thrive. As a service to our community, we will provide weekly updates throughout the 2026 Legislative Session on the status of proposed legislation impacting survivors of domestic violence.
